Ramon Villa is an award-winning filmmaker and Assistant Professor of Practice in Digital Media Production at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). With over two decades of experience in filmmaking and media production, he teaches courses in video production, scriptwriting, and narrative filmmaking.
His creative work has been recognized by organizations including the Austin Film Society, NALAC, Latino PBS, and the New Orleans Film Society. Most recently, he received the Ann and Charles Horak III Award for Teaching Excellence at UTEP in recognition of his impact on students and the film community.
Ramon Villa will cohost the first UTEP/EPCC Student Film Showcase at 8:30 pm Saturday, July 18 in the Philanthropy Theatre.
