Registration for our third annual PCFF Screenwriting Pitch Fest is now closed. We have 10 screenwriters who will pitch their scripts in the hopes of winning the $250 first prize.
Check it out. The pitch fest will be at 8 pm Saturday, July 19 in the Foundation Room, 333 N. Oregon, across from San Jacinto Plaza. Admission is free.
What’s a pitch fest?
It’s a forum for writers to sell, or pitch, their screenplay to a producer, or, in this case, our judge, filmmaker and Femme Frontera Filmmaker Showcase founder Angie Reza Tures.
You’ll get two minutes to sell your idea to her. The key is to make it compelling, to make her want to see it as a finished film. This is not a recitation of the plot. It’s a sales pitch.
Screenwriter and Border Theatre founder Austin Savage will host. Austin and Angie will offer constructive feedback after each pitch.
The $250 first prize will be awarded at the end of the pitch fest.
Competing for that first prize are:
Mark Amaro, El Paso
Scott Carrillo-Logan, Las Cruces
Jorge Gomez, El Paso
Naomi Gomez, Las Cruces
Christine Lozano, El Paso
Benjamin Moncada, El Paso
Jorge III Monsisvais, El Paso
Gabriel Philip Rivera, El Paso
Alecs Román, El Paso
Graciela Sarinana, El Paso
Good luck to this year’s contestants!
