Each woman has big dreams of finding Mr. Right, of making it to the top of the corporate world, or of becoming the toast of Broadway. But each finds more than her fair share of obstacles, from rotten fellas to abusive bosses. Though great fun to watch as an elevated melodrama, the film was also ahead of its time with its subject matter of workplace abuse and women’s rights.
