Check out what local filmmakers are up to in this annual curated showcase of locally connected films, followed by an awards presentation at the end of the screening. We don’t charge them to submit their work, but we do reward them. The judges will choose the best films from this year’s entries, plus a $1,500 first prize, $1,000 second prize, and $750 third prize. A $250 audience favorite award will be chosen by a text vote at the screening, and we’ll hand out awards for best college and high school student films. For the third straight year, our judges are filmmaker and NMSU associate professor of film Ilana Lapid (Yochi, Red Mesa), El Paso producer Javier Gonzalez of JAG Films (Girls State, In the Summers, Still: A Michael Fox Movie), and PCFF veteran Asia Saucedo of the Plaza Classic Film Festival Program Advisory Committee. The program will be followed by a free Local Flavor reception from 5:30-7 pm in the Foundation Room. It’s open to the public. — Doug Pullen
