Check out what local filmmakers are up to in this annual curated showcase of locally connected films, followed by an awards presentation at the end of the screening. We don’t charge them to submit their work, but we do reward them. The judges will choose a $1,500 first prize, $1,000 second prize, and $750 third prize. A $250 audience favorite award will be chosen by a text vote at the screening. New this year are a $100 college film prize and $50 high school film award. For the second straight year, our judges are filmmaker and NMSU associate professor of film Ilana Lapid (Yochi, Red Mesa), producer Javier Gonzalez of El Paso, and PCFF veteran Asia Saucedo of the El Paso Community Foundation staff. The program will be followed by a free Local Flavor reception from 5:30-7 pm in the Foundation Room. It’s open to the public. — Doug Pullen
