Classic and not-so-classic Hollywood movies about World War II rarely included the contributions of Mexican Americans. Learn about some of those contributions to the American battle against fascism in this free lecture by Karina Echavarri, a history and Mexican American Studies teacher at Franklin High School and host of the monthly Cafecito y MAS gatherings focused on Mexican American Studies. Her talk will include information about Company E, the all-Mexican American Army unit made up mostly of men from El Paso’s Segundo Barrio. — Doug Pullen
