Aaron and George's Film Cafe

We’re showcasing two locally connected films with our friends at Aaron and George’s Film Café. Both run about 15 minutes long. “Truck Fishing in America” — its title a play on the Richard Brautigan novella — is a dark comedy about a couple of guys who haven’t lived up to their own expectations. It was written by and stars Neal Adelman, a New Mexico State University grad, and produced by former NMSU faculty member Craig Holden, who is a member of the PCFF Program Advisory Committee. “The Best Dive in the 915” is a recently completed film by writer-director Carrie Silva, whose original screenplay won last year’s PCFF Screenwriting Competition. It’s about a guy who returns to El Paso and learns that his favorite dive bar is being staked out by the law. We’ll show the movies first, then the filmmakers will sit down for a Q&A after. Please support Aaron and George’s with a purchase while you’re there! — Doug Pullen
