Plaza Classic Film Festival Screenwriting Competition coordinator and writer Austin Savage will lead a group of local actors through an abridged reading of this year’s winning screenplay, Wounds, by El Paso writer Candace Cano. Our third annual table read gives the audience a rare chance to hear a script as written, albeit in abridged form. Savage will summarize portions of the screenplay, and actors will read the various parts from key scenes in the winning work. With a scrumptious brunch and coffee to kick things off, it’s a tasty way to get a look behind the scenes at how the written word has the potential to jump off the printed page. — Doug Pullen
