Pasta. Opera. Love. Infidelity. Moonlight. That’s amore in this beloved ‘80s romance from versatile director Norman Jewison. In a working-class Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn, the widowed Loretta Castorini (Cher in an Oscar-winning performance) has given up on finding love again and decides to accept the proposal of the boring Johnny Cammareri (Danny Aiello), even though she doesn’t love him. When she meets his fiery younger brother Ronny (Nicolas Cage), Loretta begins to think she may be able to fall in love again. Meanwhile, Loretta’s mother Rose (fellow Oscar winner Olympia Dukakis) suspects her husband (Cosmo Castorini) may be getting the wandering eye. Bring a date to this one. Better yet, check out our third annual pre-show dinner, the Snap Out of It Dinner, at 5 pm that day in the Foundation Room (plazaclassic.com/tickets). — Jack Fields
