This animated story of a panda who feels unsure of his abilities will resonate with anyone familiar with imposter syndrome. No one is more surprised than Po (Jack Black) when Master Oogway (Randall Duk Kim) identifies the bumbling panda as the next Dragon Warrior, a Kung Fu master and the chosen protector of the valley of peace. Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman), the kung fu master of the elite Jade Palace, was sure that one of his pupils, the furious five (voiced by a star-studded cast), would be chosen for the role. As Po trains with the group, he wins over Master Shifu’s acolytes, and most importantly, begins to believe in himself. The first in a series of films, the timeless wisdom of the film’s message is wrapped in laugh out loud sight gags reminiscent of silent film stars. — Lisa Elliott
