Andres Alegria, who co-directed Song for Cesar, is a producer of documentary films and a television editor. He began his career as a producer of news, documentary and cultural radio programming. He produced and hosted programming for 10 years for public radio including KPFA, Pacifica Radio and NPR, focusing on Chicano and Latin American affairs, including the struggle of the farm workers for decent working conditions and the right to organize.
Since then Andres has been a television editor and producer for more than 30 years with credits that include national and local news, documentaries and nationally syndicated programs for all the major networks both commercial and public.
He has co-produced three internationally distributed independent documentaries with the Freedom Archives in San Francisco. In addition to producing independent films and videos, he is currently Vice President of Post and Operations for Hoff Productions, a major producer of television programming for U.S. and international markets.
Andres Alegria will appear with ‘Song for Cesar’ at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 31 in the Plaza Theatre.
