The band was founded in 2013 by trio Josh Gonzalez and twin brothers Eduardo and Enrique Martinez. The initial aim of the band was to go for the indie rock sound reminiscent of bands like the Strokes or Arctic Monkeys. Their first song Damage Control did just that. Following the success of the single, the band wanted to experiment more with synthesizers. The next release, The Fortress EP, introduced synth lead songs Fox and Fortress. The following release completely left the traditional two-guitar band and remained with synth, guitar and bass for the single Autumn. The sound established, the band decided to focus more on visuals and released Downstream on YouTube, the band’s first music video. Their next EP, Phantasm Romance, featured new songs and a music video for the jittery single Pick it Up. Shortly after, Soul Parade introduced Nancy Loya as lead singer to allow the band to focus on writing music for their next release Midnight Rose, which featured an animated video. 2020 saw the band continue with a string of indie pop hits, including “The Flower Singles” Violet Sunrise, 2 a.m. Sunflower, and Blossom. While Soul Parade continues to write new music, the band also has played shows throughout its hometown of El Paso, Texas, ranging from city-wide events to bars and house shows. To this day, the band continues to express its energy and passion through rhythmic and upbeat music. The quintet, with newly added vocalist-keyboardist Leksy Danahe, plans to release its debut album in Fall 2021.
