Psycho 4

This is director Alfred Hitchcock’s most famous and notorious film, but is it a horrific tale of murder and madness or a macabre black comedy, as the director suggested? Immorality, larceny and guilt lead Marion Crane along a rain-soaked highway where Norman, mother and murder await at the isolated Bates Motel. Imitated, yet never equaled, it is based on Robert Bloch’s 1959 novel, which was inspired by real-life serial killer Ed Gein. Bernard Herrmann’s black and white music score is justifiably famous, as is the legendary shower scene.
