The fifth Plaza Classic Film Festival, Aug. 2-12, can be summed up with two words: Al Pacino. The legendary actor brought his “Al Pacino: One Night Only” retrospective to the Plaza Theatre in honor of the centennial restoration of the Mills Building. Oscar-winning costume design icon Edith Head was the subject of an exhibit at the El Paso Museum of Art. Former Hitchcock stars appeared — Tippi Hedren with The Birds, and Oscar-winner Eva Marie Saint with North by Northwest (she also appeare with On the Waterfront). Former child star Mary Badham introduced To Kill a Mockingbird. The Plaza Classic Film Club was created for high school film buffs.
